I was driving home yesterday and saw a Focus SVT. We were in a lot of traffic on the highway so I didn't really think anything of it and definitely was not gonna race.

So, the dude in the Focus has to slow down for traffic so I go around him on the right. I had to punch it in order to get around him and beat the traffic behind me in that lane. I have a magnaflow so it was kinda loud.

Well, the dude whips around the cars in front of him and cuts off the truck in the right lane and is riding my ass!!! I mean, I couldn't even see most of the guys hood in my rearview. So I speed up a little bit (as much as I could with cars in front of me) and he speeds up with me RIGHT ON MY FUCKING ASS. I wanted to brake check the fool but he was so close that it would have caused an accident for sure and I DO NOT want to deal with that.

So the lane to the left opens up and he whips around me into it (missing my car by about 6 inches) and just hauls ass past me. I couldn't do anything about it because I needed to exit and had cars not too far in front of me.

That shit really pisses me off. What was he trying to prove??? It's not like we could have raced in all that traffic. Besides, it didn't make me want to race him, it made me want to kick his ass. What a fucking idiot.

Hey, there's people here that do that to people on the road too. I try not to ride people asses in traffic though. I'm also quick to brake check a fucker for that kinda nonsense too. I hate to say it, but you should taken his bait and whupped 'em as soon as the chance came up. Maybe it was the same one that I embarresed last month looking for some revenge in another town!

just do what i do when people are riding my ass in traffic slow down to the speed limit and below and gain some distance between you and the car infront, that when they try to pass u gun it and dont let them they will get the point sooner or later

Sound like a normal day here in Detroit. As for the brake checking, you have insurence, and besides he is the one who is going to have to explain to the cop what he was doing so close to your bumper. "Failure to allow a safe and cleared distance". But if other ppl were around then you did the right thing. Don't endanger other people's lives, just the guy who pissed you off.

i do the same, using the brake check method. they can ride my ass all they want, but they better hope their brakes are decent because i'll do it over and over again.

sad thing is once, i did it 5 or 6 times to this lady, and when i got off i looked over and noticed she had children in the car... pissed me off like no other. of all the things that piss me off, people that drive like jackasses with children in the car do it the most

Well, there was so much other traffic around that there was no way to "show this guy up" even though I would have LOVED to embarass him in front of everyone on the freeway.

Yes, I have insurance but who wants to deal with the fucking hassle of it all after an accident? Not me, that's for sure. Been there, done that and it sucked every single time.

No, you did the smartest thing you could. Without question. No reason to get into a wreck over some idiot. There are plenty of times that I could brake check someone, I actually prefer the 'downshift, clutch dump method', if speeds allow for it, but it's never worth the hassle. I see alot of people that say '**** it, if he hits me it's his fault', but never seen someone hit the brakes hard enough to do it. He'll get smoked by you, or another Redline, before too long.

I think he thought that when I passed him it was some sort of "challenge".

The guy was a tool and I guess he was trying to intimidate me or something stupid like that. All he did was piss me off and make me wish we had a clear road ahead.

Just looked up the stats on his car. He'd better have a little something extra under the hood if he's gonna go around trying to intimidate Redlines.

I PRAY that I meet up with this guy again and have some running distance. Then again, DFW is a HUGE area and I'll probably never see him again. Damn shame. I wanted to spank that Focus' ass real bad.

I see this more and more as i drive the redline. I dont know what it is... I think it might be that people see our cars as easy kills. It just has to be at the right place at the right time to have them test their luck. I'm a very aggressive driver, but with me, although i drive this way, i make sure i am safe along with everyone else. There is a fine line between aggressive and stupid. The trick is to know where that line is, when you can safely cross it, and when to get out of stupid mode cause it's not safe anymore. We all get stupid here and there. Just some people will push it farther than they should. I spent 20-30hrs autocrossing the redline last year before i bought this one. I've pushed it hard on the track (notice i say the track). I know what the car can and can't do. I see a new hotshot every weekend that has never autocrossed before take his 'my car is fast out on the road, so i should kick everyone's ass' attitude, and they'll get enough cone infractions and off-course infractions to double their time. It's stupid, but people do it, so just watch out for them and don't into one out on the street. At least the autocross track is a closed track where you can make a mistake but not get hurt. Try throwing your car into a 360 out in the middle of a busy highway at 75mph. It's not pretty. A guy i was following did a fast lane change, but the rear must have hit some loose stuff on the road and never straightened out. He's lucky he went into the grass median cause he would have been smashed. Just be careful if you decide to take anyone on

I too am a VERY aggressive driver. I had to be. Go live in Atlanta for a two years driving a 100 HP Saturn SL and you'll learn to be aggressive or you'll never get anywhere.

Put your washers on, or better yet (did this yesterday), I had my sunroof open, 55 degree day, and a yuppie in an Acura RL was tailgating me on the turnpike - I reached into my little change bin, and like you'd flip a coin, flipped a nickel out the sunroof - I heard the WHACK when it hit wherever it hit on his car - he backed way off...I don't think he knew what it was or where it came from, maybe that my car tires threw a rock or something - pretty funny, regardless.

Next time, I'll use a quarter, or a ball bearing - I HATE being tailgated.

LOL!!! I had a friend that used to carry a big cup of pennies in his car. Whenever someone was being an ass on the road he'd grab a handful and hurl them at their car.

That's awsome, mad props. My buddies taught me long ago to keep some kinda drink in the car, I go to Starbucks about 3 times a day so I always have a cup with an inch of an old latte or something in it. Just launch that puppy out of the sunroof or window, and SPLASH... No more tailgater. They prefer to use milkshakes. I have done this to one person with success, you have no idea how pissed off they get.
