Yah...

Yah dude I definetly just read that thing "MY FIRST KILL!!!!!!111." You could tell it was an SRT-4 owner just by the 3 or 4 1's at the end. N3wb. Anyway whatever, he's saying he took on a Redline in his Srt-4 and didn't shift beyond 4000 Rpms. Tsk tsk tsk.

Agreed, they can definetly beat us, but not the way this guy is saying it. Whatever. But yes, once the Psi-Fi guys come out with some stuff...whoa boy. I'm going to keep my exterior bone stock, so it'll still be somewhat of a sleeper to those SRT-4s.

I've already de-badged my trunk so if other drivers don't recognize RL rims, they're scratching their heads saying "what the **** just happened?"

damn trolls . . . who do they think they are?

I test drove an SRT-4 on Monday (you know, just to see what the real competition for my redline felt like, of course!) and to be perfectly honest, it didn't seem too much faster in a straight line than the Redline, and I was driving it hard. Then we got to a nice twisty road and that's where it fell apart. The thing has extreme body roll and poor yaw control; feels extremely wishy-washy, and the tires were trying desperately to hang on through a 60-mph sweeper (granted the posted speed through the curve was 30, but who's counting?)

All in all, they're up there with our redlines but certainly aren't a better car by any means.

They're not even that fast, only the NEWER ones are more horsepower than our cars. The other ones are like 215 horses. I was looking at the stages available for them in the Summit catalog last night too. I gotta wonder what we can do with a new ECM.

They're quick, don't get me wrong - they've got about as much speed as a redline, although you HEAR it going fast a little more. The turbo lag in the thing was noticeable, and you really couldn't start feeling the boost until about 3k to 3500 rpm; the Redline gets it as soon as you dig into the throttle. Where the SRT lacks is in handling; it's got a very similar suspension setup to the stock Neon, which certainly isn't noted for its handling.

Those SRT bastards need to just accept the fact that our cars are competition. Why are they so threatened/upset about Redlines? What is their problem? Do we go onto their boards and write obnoxious threads about taking Neons by surprise and it really isn't even a race? No.

Pathetic.

A little too far indeed. You continued to act like a tool even when you saw it was getting "out of hand."

I have a friend with an SHO that could easily wax any SRT-4 out (he beats modified Z06's and even some sport bikes from a roll). I'll bet if he came on your forums with a little "friendly ball breaking" then you guys would be all up in his shit real quick as well.

And as far as your comment towards me about every one of my posts in the kill section saying that some guy wanted to race me but I had my family in the car with me, that was only in one thread. I have been in my car MANY times by myself and raced other cars. Suprised the shit out of most of them. Most the cars that beat me still gave me props for keeping up as well as I did.

Once our aftermarket picks up (and it's starting to look pretty good) we'll be running with you guys and even winning sometimes. So go ahead and get all the smack talking out of your system now because before long, you won't be able to do it anymore.

A little ball breaking is one thing, but whatever that turned into went far beyond. We all know what we got. We have the payments to prove it. And we are where the SRT-4 was 2 years ago, so when we do get parts, oh boy, it's on.

The Redline was GM's answer to the SRT-4 along with the Focus. The fact that the BIG 3 are even answering the call to compete with the foriegn market is great. If it wasn't for that we would all be out driving rice burners instead. But our true blue American hearts just won't allow that. Despite the number of foriegn parts in our cars, the badge says American made. And that is what counts. Maybe we should just start an Domestic Tuners club and then we could all be friends. Cause this whole situation right now between the Ions and the Neons reminds me of when I was in the military. Yeah we got into it with the other branches and sometimes it went to far. But at the end of the day, we were all still on the same team.

Yea, too bad these fuckers are idiots and can't see that. Although, seeing as how it as a detuned Evo drivetrain, its hard to call it a domestic, that and the company is not American owned anyway. What they don't realize is that's how the Japanese companies are gaining ground so fast, they work together at it. They meet, agree upon the best targets for each company and division, and attack them in a war-like style. Honda aims at tuners, Toyota hits the daily drivers and low-budget family sedans, Nissan goes for the higher end family sedans and trucks, etc. You think thats purely by chance? No, they work together.

You guys can troll all day, but if you think that the Cobalt and the Ion aren't going to be out there getting faster and faster each day. I will be out at road courses all summer, and if you're near Chicago, you'll see me. I'll be the red Ion Redline smoking up the twisties... bring it...

No dude, I'm sure he beats those by like 30 car lengths. Like I said earier, one day he'll realize that you have to race cars that are running, AND on the same street as you, AND going in the same direction at the same time. It's hard for stupid people to grasp Blu....

Yeah, kinda like the ricer fly-bys that our '00 Neon gets from the Honda-boys.

The ION RL hasn't got them yet, mostly I figure because of it's unknown existance.
