i guess it could be. How wud i fix it if it was?

i dunno if the fuse for that is on the driver's side kick panel to the right of the gas pedal, or under the hood in that fuse box, i'm pretty sure it is in the driver's kick panel, just take off the cover, look to where it says "cig adapter" and check that fuse to see if it's blown

Its in the drivers side floor consule fuse box. IIRC, look at the top center of the fuse box, and go over to the left one fuse and the first one you reach will be the lighter fuse. (I'm doing this from memory, so I might be wrong) Swap out with replacement fuse from any auto shop. it should be less than $1. It should have a number on it to help you figure out which one you need. Or...... you could take it to the dealership and they'd charge you $9 to fix it. :ack:

or if you're lucky it will be the same amperage as a fuse you don't need that's extra (for example i have a sunroof fuse, but no sunroof)

o alrite cool. If i cant figure it out, i guess ill bring it to the dealer. 9 bucks i can deal with.

cmon man dont bring it to no dealer for somethin like taht. either test it with a meter, or pull it out, hold it up to light and see if that little wire inside is broken. go to autozone and find the same number fuses. or use ur onstar fuse or some other one u dont need. dont waste ur time at the dealer.

They're a 10 amp fuse, and the Redline has a spare one in the kickpanel. We have fuses for both 12 volt outlet and cig lighter, but your car may only have the front outlet (mine does). Just pull both and put the good one in the busted one's slot.

There is a diagram in the kickpanel showing what fuse is for what. The fuse puller is in the engine fuseblock.

The Redline cannot support a PS2 from the cig outlet. Too much amperage draw.

Then how would you reccomend i set it up?

As far as I know, you would have to hardwire or put a converter directly onto the battery and play from the trunk. I think that's how a guy near me does his at shows.

I really am not the person to ask about it; I just know that our cars pop fuses really easily - I popped that fuse from running a laptop and my GPS charger at the same time (with a converter).

Seriously?
You don't see people running in-dash DVD players and speakers from the cig adaptors. Splicing wires is the best way to do this. But it sounds like you're not too knowledgeable at this (sorry), so this is best left up to someone experienced in audio/visual aftermarket stuff.
...And whoa, wait a second. Based on the mods in your sig and the question you just asked, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you didn't do any of that audio install yourself, right?
Oh, and the dealership will laugh at you if a blown fuse is the only reason why you're bringing your car in.

Id probably be able to do that. My battery is relocated to the trunk. But i dont know about hardwiring.

well i dont know, i remember the previous owner told me he relocated it to the trunk. I dont think he would bullshit about that.

ITs ok, i dont take offense to that. Im not knowledgeable about instaliing ANYTHING. Im a new driver and this is my first car so its understandable that idk a lot. ANd yes this work was not done by me.

I think the cig lighter is a 15 amp fuse and its definately located inside the vehicle. alot of the trouble ive ever had with my HPT box not coming on is related to that cig lighter fuse.

#18 ·
So ill check out my fuses and try out the playstation i guess.

It's a 10 amp minifuse, I've had to replace mine recently and I picked up a few spares while I was at it.

He did. It is back there, but he didn't do anything special for it. The battery should have always been there.

So yea ill try it out and see how it works. And thats weird he talked about relocating, but w.e.

yeah man, just pick up a pack of 5(i think thats what they come in) of 10 and 15 amp (little white number) from autozone. its always good to have some. ive blown multiples. fuses are easy as pie to replace man. that little wire u see when u hold it up to the light will determine if one is bad or good. when something electical stops working all together like that, go to fuses first and check. use the diagram and itll show u what one u need to find.

that happend to me. surprisingly it wasnt the fuse! when i had taken off the trimming a wire had ripped out. easy fix just solder the wires if its that
